TAM Airlines Overview:

Since commencing operations in 1976 with three used Fokker F27 Turboprops, TAM, or Táxi Aéreo Marilia, Airlines has grown through mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures to become Brazil’s largest air carrier. Headquartered in Sao Paulo, the company merged with LAN Airlines in 2012 to create LATAM Airlines, which will begin service under one livery in 2018. The expanded company serves 63 destinations in Europe as well as North and South America. In addition to hubs at Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia, focus cities include Barcelona, Miami, Toronto, Caracas and Cancun. TAM Airlines handles a significant portion of Brazil’s domestic air travel. The airline operates a fleet of 169 aircraft that are identified by the blue silhouette of a flying bird superimposed over the company’s initials. The passenger fleet consists of Airbus 320, 330 and 350 as well as Boeing 767 and 777 model aircraft. TAM Airlines is a member of the Oneworld code sharing alliance whose full members include American Airlines, British Airways and Qantas.
